Production on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things has officially finished, closing the chapter on one of Netflix’s biggest shows. Netflix shared the update on social media, along with some behind-the-scenes photos to mark the occasion. Fans can look forward to the final season arriving in 2025.

Over nearly a decade, the cast and crew brought the town of Hawkins, Indiana, to life. Reflecting on the journey, Finn Wolfhard shared a heartfelt Instagram post, looking back on growing up with the cast.

“We filmed for a year, and I’ll miss my friends and our characters so much,” he wrote, including a throwback photo from Season 1. Noah Schnapp also shared an emotional goodbye, calling the show “more than a job” and a “lifelong dream.” He thanked his co-stars for their impact on him both personally and professionally.

Season 5 will pick up in the fall of 1987, continuing from Season 4’s dramatic ending. The Hawkins crew was left in a tough spot: Vecna seemed defeated, but Will still felt his presence.

Max was in a coma after a brutal battle, and a massive earthquake caused by the Upside Down left Hawkins in chaos. These events set the stage for an intense final showdown.

Netflix has teased some exciting updates for the season, including a time jump and the titles of the last eight episodes. The finale, called “The Rightside Up,” hints at a dramatic conclusion to the story.

Fans will see the full cast return, including Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, and Sadie Sink, along with a new face—Terminator star Linda Hamilton, in a mysterious role.

The Duffer brothers, the show’s creators, described the final season as a “satisfying conclusion.” Ross Duffer shared how the cast has grown into more than just actors, calling them family. He also praised the hard work of everyone involved in making the show.

With filming done, fans now face the long wait for editing and post-production to be completed. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Stranger Things, it’s clear the show’s impact will be felt for years to come.
