‘Mouse of Horrors’ Brings a Twisted Take on Mickey in the First Trailer

ITN Studios has renamed their horror movie inspired by Mickey Mouse from ‘The Mouse Experiment’ to ‘Mouse of Horrors.’

This exciting new indie film has released an official trailer and promises a terrifying twist on a beloved character.

The movie, set to hit theaters soon, features a group of friends who find themselves trapped and hunted by a mutated rat named STEAMBOAT WILLIE at a creepy amusement park.

Directed by Brendan Petrizzo, the cast of ‘Mouse of Horrors’ includes Natasha Tosini, Lewis Santer, Nichaela Farrell, Michelle Bauer, Allie Moreno, and Tessa Wood. It’s important to note that this film is not associated with the so-called “Poohniverse.”

Interestingly, the film taps into the newly public domain character of Steamboat Willie, the classic 1928 short film character that marked Mickey Mouse’s debut. Now that it’s public domain, filmmakers are free to use this version of Mickey without needing Disney’s approval.

Following the trail blazed by earlier releases like ‘The Mouse Trap’ and with more such projects on the horizon—including ‘Screamboat’ and ‘Mouseboat Massacre’—it seems we’re seeing the beginning of a new trend in horror.
