Kevin Feige Confirms that ‘Secret Wars’ Will Usher a New Era for the X-Men

Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, everyone has been waiting for the arrival of the Mutants, especially the X-Men, in the MCU. Everyone is excitedly anticipating these important characters’ formal MCU debut, which is sure to be epic, as everyone has promised.

Even though Deadpool and Wolverine helped with that integration to some extent and even though the Mutants have already made an appearance in the MCU!

Now, the state of the project in general is a big enigma, as we don’t really know what Feige and Marvel are planning to do here. It is certain that they are going to bring the X-Men into the MCU, but how – well, we still don’t know that. We also don’t know whether Marvel will be looking for new actors or whether they will bring back some old faces.

But, while there are still many question marks there, we are definitely getting some information here and there, and Kevin Feige has been especially active in that aspect, as he is the source of the latest X-Men-related news that we have.

As you know well, the X-Men are one of Marvel’s biggest aspects in general. Although we still don’t know what will happen to them in the MCU, their debut is imminent. Though nothing formal has been disclosed, there have been a lot of rumors, ranging from Jackman and Stewart returning to reprise their roles more permanently to McAvoy getting brought in as well as Marvel searching for a whole new cast for the characters.

These details are still an enigma at this point, but we’re finally getting some new information about the upcoming X-Men debut in the MCU.

If you remember one of our recent reports, you’ll probably know that Feige revealed this while giving an interview in Brazil (as part of D23): “What’s fun this time is… now we know very much what the grand storyline is leading up to Secret Wars, but also beyond… like The X-Men.”

Now, Feige also appeared via video at the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Singapore, and he revealed a series of information about the upcoming projects, including some news about the X-Men, here is what he said:

I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize. Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.

As you can see, this is in line with what Feige said earlier and we are very excited about this, seeing how the X-Men are going to be the focus of Marvel’s post-Secret Wars phase, which is great. And while we’re still going to have to wait for it, we think that the movie will deliver in a proper way!
