Warner Bros. has had a tough time with their DC Comics characters, especially with their failed attempt to compete with Marvel’s MCU. After Zack Snyder’s version of the DC Universe struggled, the company decided to bring in someone new. Enter James Gunn.

When Gunn took over, the DCEU was in disarray, and he made the bold choice to scrap it all and create a fresh start. This new vision is called the DCU, and the first major film in this new universe will be the upcoming Superman movie. The role of Superman will be played by David Corenswet, and the movie is set to release early next year.

There’s a lot of buzz around this project, but details are still scarce. While Gunn has hinted at what we can expect, there is still a lot of room for rumors – be they good or bad – and a recent one suggested that the Superman movie is having trouble with its VFX department and James Gunn decided to comment.

The premiere of Superman is closing in. Recently, we’ve seen the first footage and new images from the movie, and to be quite frank, many people are excited. The movie seems to be promising, and while a trailer can be misleading, it seems that Superman is ready for a strong start based on what we know at this point.

But, Gunn is still keeping a lot of things secret and that always leaves a lot of space for rumors and gossip, some of which can be very negative, as the one we are going to show you now:

This, as you can imagine, caused a lot of questions, and the community began to wonder whether there really were issues with the movie and what the nature of these issues was. Sneider revealed that the movie is seemingly having issues with its VFX department and that Gunn has fired several of his team members due to bad results.

Knowing that James Gunn is prone to answering fan questions, some fans took it to the man himself and the director has reassured everyone that there are no issues with the VFX department and that Sneider’s rumor is false:

This is definitely reassuring, and we are glad that Gunn decided to debunk these rumors, which means that we can still look forward to this movie!
