First ‘Moana 2’ Reactions Are Here and It Seems Disney Did a Fine Job: “It’s a delightful sequel”

The world premiere of Disney’s “Moana 2” sailed into Oahu, Hawaii on Thursday.
Just before the release of “Moana 2,” Disney hosted a world premiere at the Lanikūhonua Cultural Institute in Kapolei, Hawaii. The event featured the movie’s cast and creators, along with special guests like WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
The event opened with a performance led by Tiana Nonosina Liufau, Kayla Faʻamaligi, and other Polynesian artists to celebrate the Pacific people, cultures, and traditions that inspired Moana’s story. Following the premiere, the first reactions to the movie are live on social media:
Opening only in cinemas on November 28, 2024, “Moana 2” reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers.
After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, “Moana 2” features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
