John Krasinski Joins Matthew Rhys in ‘Silent River,’ a New Prime Video Serial Killer Thriller

Prime Video is bringing a new thriller to the screen with ‘Silent River,’ featuring John Krasinski of ‘A Quiet Place’ fame and Matthew Rhys from ‘The Americans.’

Created by Aaron Rabin, known for his work on ‘Jack Ryan,’ this psychological thriller digs into the eerie calm of a small town harboring a serial killer.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the series will see Krasinski and Rhys as central characters whose lives intertwine more deeply than they can imagine.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM, expressed excitement about continuing their collaboration with Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, and their production company Sunday Night.

He promises a gripping series that delves into the mysteries and secrets of small-town America, ensuring that audiences worldwide will be hooked.

The storyline of ‘Silent River’ revolves around the chilling realization that a murderer lives among the town’s residents, revealing the dark undercurrents of what seems like a peaceful community.

Krasinski is not only leading the cast but will also direct the pilot and some episodes, marking a reunion with ‘Jack Ryan’ alumni Andrew Bernstein and Aaron Rabin.

Bernstein, who has a history of directing successful series including FX’s ‘The Americans’ and Netflix’s ‘Ozark,’ will also direct and executive produce.

‘Silent River’ is a production of Amazon MGM Studios, under a continued first-look deal with Krasinski and Seeger’s Sunday Night. Krasinski, Seeger, and Alexa Ginsburg are set as executive producers, promising high-tension and thrilling narratives.

Matthew Rhys is currently involved in other major projects, including Netflix’s ‘The Beast In Me’ and a Jason Reitman feature titled ‘Saturday Night.’ Meanwhile, Krasinski has kept busy with recent projects like ‘IF’ for Paramount, following his successful ventures with the ‘A Quiet Place’ franchise.
