The ‘Bloody Axe Wound’ trailer introduces a teenage girl named Abbie Bladecut, who lives a very unusual and dark life. She is the daughter of Roger Bladecut, a notorious serial killer who films his murders and sells the tapes. Abbie helps her father with this gruesome business, but as she gets older, she starts to question the violent family legacy.
The movie features a talented cast, including Sari Arambulo (known for ‘A.P. Bio’), Molly Brown (‘Lost Girls’), Eddie Leavy (‘Bella and the Bulldogs’), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Walking Dead’), and Billy Burke (‘The Twilight Saga’).
‘Bloody Axe Wound’ is directed and written by Matthew John Lawrence. The film is produced by Hilarie Burton Morgan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan for their company Mischief Farm, along with Cassandra Del Viscio and Mary Stuart Masterson for Off Label HV.
Other producers include Liz DeCesare, Jordan Manekin, Eric Knapp, Mackenzie Luzzi, and Sarah Fairchild, with Meg Mortimer serving as the executive producer.
The film’s story follows Abbie as she struggles with her family’s bloody tradition. In the small town of Clover Falls, her father has become infamous for capturing and selling videos of real murders.
As Abbie gets deeper into her father’s business, she starts wondering if she should break free from the violent path set for her and maybe even change the family’s future. As she experiences her first crush and her first real moments of personal growth, Abbie faces a tough decision: continue the dark family legacy or choose a different, more peaceful life.
This unique mix of slasher horror and coming-of-age story promises to offer plenty of thrills, laughs, and emotional moments.
