Exciting New Psychological Horror, ‘Listen Carefully,’ Releases Trailer, Confirms Streaming Release

And while the horror scene today has largely become part of mainstream film culture, some of the most famous titles in the history of genre were indie titles. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, Carpenter’s Halloween or Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street were all major indie titles before becoming global hits.

In light of that fact, we are happy to announce the upcoming release of another exciting indie title, the trailer of which you will be able to see in this report. The movie in question is titled Listen Carefully, and it is an exciting psychological thriller we wanted to reveal to you.

Ahead of the official press day, which is scheduled for December 9, 2024, we at Fiction Horizon are bringing you an exclusive insight into the movie, whose VOD release date has been set for this month. If you’re interested in finding out more about this title, please keep reading!

Listen Carefully comes from Ryan Barton-Grimley (also known as RBG), indie filmmaker known for his horror films. Listen Carefully will mark his return to the directorial seat after a four-year break; his most recently released film, Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers, was released in 2020.

This movie premiered Fantaspoa, the International Fantastic Film Festival of Porto Alegre and its North American premiere took place at the Dances With Films festival. It was then shown at the Macabro Mexico City, Fangofest Amposta and Scarefest Weekend, where Barton-Grimley was nominated for Best Actor. Here is the trailer:

The movie stars director Ryan Barton-Grimley (Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers, The Truth) as Andy McNeary alongside co-star/producer Simone Barton-Grimley (Elijah’s Ashes) as Abby McNeary and co-star/producer, Ari Schneider (Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers, Elijah’s Ashes) who plays The Voice in Listen Carefully. The crew members include frequent collaborators Audrey Haworth (production designer), David Rickabaugh (art director), and Sean Ayers (cinematographer).

The official synopsis for the movie reveals the following information:

When troubled assistant bank manager Andy McNeary’s baby daughter goes missing, he must follow the instructions of a mysterious voice on the other end of a baby monitor to save her before she disappears and his life is ruined forever. 

And this is, more or less, what we wanted to tell you. The trailer is there, the press day date has been confirmed, and we only have to tell you that the movie is officially going to be released on VOD on December 16, 2024, on services that will include Apple TV, Tubi, and Prime Video.
