Breathing In, directed by Jaco Bouwer (Gaia), is an intense folk horror film based on the South African play of the same name. The movie takes place in a single location and builds suspense, leading to a chilling twist.
Set in 1901 during the Second Anglo-Boer War, the story follows a wounded general who seeks shelter in the home of a woman and her young daughter. As he recovers, he starts to notice something strange about them, especially the daughter. Soon, the shocking truth about their survival and intentions is revealed.
The film stars Michele Burgers, Jamie-Lee Money, and Sven Ruygrok. Breathing In was released in North American theaters this year, distributed by XYZ Films. Fans of eerie, character-driven horror won’t want to miss this haunting story.

“1901, South Africa. As the Second Anglo-Boer War rages on, a wounded General seeks refuge in the small home of a woman and her young daughter.
