Rogue One is still seen as one of the best Star Wars movies, even eight years after its release. The film is a prequel to Star Wars: A New Hope and tells the story of rebels stealing the Death Star plans, leading to the Rebel Alliance’s first victory. Known for its darker tone, strong story, and visuals, it earned over $1 billion and inspired the prequel series Andor.
Andor has finished its first season, and the second (and final) season is set to premiere on April 22, 2025. Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, a key character in Rogue One, didn’t appear in season 1 because, during that timeline, Jyn was still a prisoner of the Empire and not connected to the Rebellion. With season 2 covering a broader timeline with time jumps, fans wonder if Jones will return as Jyn.
Over a year ago, the actress said Jyn wouldn’t be back on screen but shared hope that the character might return someday.
“I’m afraid to say I won’t be, but I still have hope for Jyn Erso at some point to make a comeback. But no, sadly I won’t be.”
In her latest interview with Screen Rant, Felicity Jones seemed unsure about her earlier comments. She suggested that Jyn Erso might come back to the Star Wars universe, even as a hologram. Jones called Jyn a strong character and shared her hope that the story isn’t finished yet.
I mean, never say never. She’s a pretty badass character. Maybe she could come back as a hologram or something, which is completely possible in the Star Wars universe.
Felicity Jones signed a deal to appear in multiple Star Wars projects, but so far, she’s only been in Rogue One and the 2D animated web series Star Wars Forces of Destiny.
