Though set in a different reality from the Arrowverse, Superman & Lois stood out as the best superhero show on CW because of its strong writing. The series had its ups and downs, especially in the last year.
After Nexstar took over CW and the network restructured, Superman & Lois survived while many other shows were canceled. This led to cast changes, fewer writers, a smaller budget, and fewer episodes compared to earlier seasons.
Despite these challenges, the show wrapped up its story in the fourth season, which turned out to be its last, even though it was originally planned for at least seven seasons.
The final season of Superman & Lois was a big success, loosely adapting The Death of Superman storyline. By the end, it tied up all the character arcs nicely, including the stories of our two favorite live-action Superboys.
The season currently holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and 92% from audiences based on over 100 ratings. It was a big win for CW, and the latest viewership numbers reflect that.
According to TV Series Finale, the series finale of Superman & Lois drew 510,000 viewers on its airing night. Like the previous episode, it became the most-watched episode of the season and one of the top scripted shows of The CW’s fall TV season.
Based on these numbers, it’s clear that the Arrowverse ended on a high note!
