Severance is a sci-fi thriller series on Apple TV+ about Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon Industries who undergoes a procedure that separates his work memories from his personal ones. Created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle, it stars Adam Scott, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette, among others.

The show premiered on February 18, 2022, and received praise for its story, visuals, music, and performances, earning 14 Emmy nominations and winning two awards.

Apple renewed ‘Severance’ for a second season on April 6, 2022. In April 2023, Beau Willimon joined as an executive producer and writer for the second season and possibly a third.

The official trailer for the show has been released, teasing events post-insane cliffhanger:

The main cast of Severance includes Adam Scott as Mark Scout, a grieving widower working on Lumon’s severed floor, alongside co-workers Dylan (Zach Cherry), who loves company perks, and Helly (Britt Lower), a new recruit adjusting to severed life.

John Turturro plays Irving, a rule-following employee, and Christopher Walken is Burt, the head of Optics and Design, with whom Irving shares a connection. Patricia Arquette stars as Harmony Cobel, the manipulative manager of the severed floor, while Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, and Michael Chernus round out the cast as key figures in Mark’s work and personal life.

Season 2 is set to premiere on January 17, 2025 on Apple TV.
