As we have said on numerous occasions, Deadpool & Wolverine is a movie we simply cannot stop writing about. The movie became an incredible hit, and despite the fact that it’s been months since the premiere and that more or less every Easter Egg from the movie has been found and analyzed in detail, there is still more to discover.

Namely, the movie is filled with a lot of details, and from time to time – especially now that the movie has been released for home media – new details emerge and need to be discussed, which is what we are going to do in this report.

Namely, as it turns out, Marvel used VFX to provide us with yet another amazing Easter Egg that makes a nod to the original appearance of Johnny Storm in the first Fantastic Four movie, and when you read what we are talking about, you’re going to be amazed!

This is a detail that could only have been discovered by someone with experience in special effects, like a VFX artist, as it is not something that regular viewers can notice, so don’t worry if you haven’t noticed this; it was highly unlikely that you would have, anyhow. So, what are we talking about?

The source of this information is YouTube’s Corridor Crew, who often react to the VFX in popular movies, and they recently did so for Deadpool & Wolverine, revealing some very interesting details, one of which is related to the VFX used to activate the flames on Johnny Storm’s body in the film. This is what they said:

So, like the old Fantastic Four fire effects, because of the way you had to render the fire, you had to kind of artificially tell it to make this part bright and make this part dark. It feels like the same effect. It does feel like they are trying to be very true to the original style.

The comment is related to the fact that Marvel seemingly used the same technique to flame up Johnny Storm, which is a very interesting nod to the original movie and, technically, an Easter Egg that most fans missed. Here is an image for you to compare:

The effects are a bit smoother now, but to be frank, this really does look the same as the original movie and if Marvel did that intentionally – and everything points to it being like that – this is truly a great piece of appreciation for its legacy and a move that the fans will definitely love in the future.

We don’t know all the technical details behind this but do click on the YouTube link above if you want more details.
