Aaron Taylor-Johnson is about to hit theaters as Kraven the Hunter, one of Spider-Man’s most famous villains. Before joining the SSU, he was known for playing Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in the MCU.
His time as Quicksilver was brief, appearing only in the mid-credits scenes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he often shared the role with Evan Peters, who played the character in the X-Men movies.
In a recent interview with IMDb, Taylor-Johnson shared how he and Peters played Quicksilver in different franchises and how there are no hard feelings between them.
He shared a story about meeting Evan Peters at Comic-Con with the X-Men group. They had a moment of gratitude, talking about how lucky they were to be doing what they love, even though they were part of different movie worlds.
I remember passing him in Comic-Con where they had the X-men lineup of guys. And we both had a moment like, sort of a pinch yourself moment, of like, “Oh my god, aren’t we so lucky that we got to be here and still be here doing what we love doing? But funny that are we are two different universes doing it.”
And to be honest I have a huge admiration for what he was able to do with his character, with some things that I think were fantastic and worked really well for that character. It’s interesting to kind of have that, you know?
And I think when you’re a comic books character that has the sort of attachment to Magneto and all that, House of M, there’s a different – you know, you can have these different connections. That’s kind of cool.
Johnson then praised the action figures of him and Olsen, saying the likeness is amazing.
Honestly, it’s one of those things where you kind of go you know, someone makes a figurine, doll figurine of a character you play it’s kind of mind-blowing. It is very overwhelming.
The highs and the lows, I try, I almost, it’s almost as if they neutralize each other out beacuse it’s such a high that you kind of don’t know where to go. So sometimes you’re constantly just kind of never taking them for granted by any means. But it’s wild.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson praised Elizabeth Olsen, calling her a great actor, a star, and a wonderful person. He said he felt lucky to work with her, as they played husband and wife in Godzilla and brother and sister in Avengers. He also joked about why she didn’t use her powers to bring him back to life in the movies.
Lizzie Olsen, is a phenomenal actor, absolute star, and a wonderful person, a wonderful human being. She’s really lovely. Yeah I was very fortunate. We play husband and wife in Godzilla and we play brother and sister in Avengers. And I don’t know why she didn’t resurrect me though.
We’ll always remember Johnson’s great performance. Who knows, maybe he’ll return to the MCU in Secret Wars or even appear as Kraven? That would definitely be exciting.
