Star Wars is currently airing its most recent live-action project, Skeleton Crew, which comes to us after a good run with Ahsoka and a rather controversial stint with The Acolyte. The first two episodes of the series premiered on December 2, 2024, and the series will continue to air on a weekly basis until the end.

The early reviews and fan reactions to the series have been mostly positive, with the series earning high critic and audience scores. But it seems that the viewership data is not (yet) following suit if the latest numbers are to be considered, as you will see.

Namely, Variety reports that Skeleton Crew failed to make the top ten streaming list in its first week, which is definitely a disappointing fact – as the series seems to be a proper refreshment. However, the numbers might not be that horrible as there is another perspective that has to be considered here.

Before we continue with our analysis, here are the numbers for the current week that we are considering:

As you can see, the top ten is here, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is not on the list, which might worry some fans, especially in light of the fact that the controversial The Acolyte managed to make it into the top ten in its first week (with 210 million minutes). But there are several factors to consider here.

First of all, the numbers are based on data collected until December 5, 2024, which means that it considers data only for the first three days of the series’ run. Seeing how Skeleton Crew premiered on December 2, the data is definitely incomplete and it could be that the series reached the necessary numbers in its first full week.

Secondly, we don’t know how many minutes the series accumulated, but we know that it’s less than 332 million, which could be high. It could very well be more than The Acolyte‘s 210 million minutes overall, seeing how the competition is solid this week. Based on these numbers, The Acolyte would not have made it into the top ten either, as you can see.

The reactions to the series have been mostly positive and it is possible that the series is just picking up steam and that we are going to see a significant improvement in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to keep following us for all the updates!
