F.W. Murnau entered cinema history with his film Nosferatu, a classic of Expressionist cinema and one of the most important movies ever made. Max Schreck’s performance as Count Orlok in the 1922 version has gone down in movie history as one of the most remarkable and recognizable roles of all time.

On December 25, 2024, 102 years after the original film’s premiere, a new, partially reimagined version of the German classic will be released.

Robert Eggers is the director who took it upon himself to remake the German classic, and knowing Eggers’ approach, we could be in for a great movie. The movie will see horror icon Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok and there is now a way for you to become closer to the character.

Although it might be a bit bizarre not to use a harsher word, there is a way for you to experience being Count Orlok in a way, as you can now buy a bed inspired by one of the most important character-related set props.

The replica of Orlok’s sarcophagus is a brilliantly crafted piece with many details, and it actually works as a bed that you can sleep in. As for the other details, here is what we found out from the press release:

The prop is described as a “hand-crafted from premium materials including a wooden base with intricate carvings” as well as “a distinctive interior with a custom-fit mattress and foam lid for easy opening at sundown.”

The bed weighs a staggering 250 lbs despite the foam lid; it is, of course, empty, so don’t expect any demons or creatures inside. It is dark grey, “sanded and hard-coated,” which sounds like a smart option for both eerie décor and concealing any unsightly bloodstains.

It also comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, so even if vampires are still only a fantasy, you can be sure your bed is authentic. It is significant in size, measuring 97.75 inches in length, 36 inches in width, and 46.5 inches in height, and it will not fit any conventional sheet sets.

The price? Well, a mere $20,000-25,000, so if you have some extra cash around the house and you’re a fan of a gothic atmosphere, then this bed is certainly the thing for you. Be careful, though, as they will be made only in a limited number, so be sure to grab your piece before the stock runs out. If you want to buy this, that is.
