‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is one of the most exciting Marvel movies coming up. It’s the first time the new Avengers team will join forces after the Infinity Saga, and they’ll face the iconic villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

But RDJ isn’t the only big star coming back. Variety reported that Chris Evans will also appear in the movie, though his role is still unknown and hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel Studios.

However, that’s where industry insiders come in. On the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha, insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Evans will return as Nomad.

I’ve heard who the character is…I was having the conversation today, and someone mentioned it… Nomad.

Take a look at the podcast below:

Keep in mind, Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed this information, so for now, it’s just a rumor. It’ll likely stay that way until the movie itself proves it true or false.

Nomad is a different identity Steve Rogers takes on in the 1974 comic Captain America #180. In this story, he gives up being Captain America after losing trust in the U.S. government and becomes a hero without ties to any country.

We saw a loose version of Nomad in Avengers: Infinity War when Steve Rogers was on the run with Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff. Co-director Joe Russo explained that while Rogers wasn’t officially Nomad, he reflected “the spirit of that character.”

We’ve shared a few theories of our own about how Evans could return, possibly as an alternate version of Steve Rogers or even as the Beyonder. This powerful character plays a key role in Doomsday and Secret Wars and once took on Steve Rogers’ appearance to walk the Earth.
