Deadpool & Wolverine is the latest MCU movie and the most successful one in recent years. It made $636.7 million in the U.S. and Canada, $701.3 million internationally, and a total of $1.338 billion worldwide. The movie also earned $84 million from IMAX, making it the fifth highest-grossing Marvel film in that format.
It broke several box office records, and after being released on Disney+, it topped the streaming charts in its first week with 1.34 billion minutes viewed from November 11-17, 2024.
Focus follows Deadpool & Wolverine with 458 million minutes viewed on Netflix, while Hot Frosty comes in next with 439 million minutes, also on Netflix. Other popular films include Twisters on Peacock with 428 million minutes, The Lost City with 362 million minutes across Netflix and Paramount+, and Moana with 311 million minutes on Disney+. Films like The Grinch (2018), Despicable Me 4, and Meet Me Next Christmas also made the list, performing well on Peacock and Netflix.
The movie has clearly been a huge success for the studio, and while many would expect a sequel to be in the works, Reynolds had a different take just a few days ago. The Deadpool star said he’s unsure when Deadpool will appear in the MCU again, as the character is most effective when he’s least expected. He also mentioned that working on Deadpool films takes a lot of time away from his family.
