Hallmark is known for their holiday programming, and whether you like their movies or not, they are a synonym for the holiday television season for many people around the world, so it is no surprise that a lot of people are interested in their holiday programming, in which Hallmark invests a lot of money.
Hallmark movies are a staple of the Christmas season and people around the world enjoy the magic created in these movies. In fact, Hallmark really does put in a lot of effort and one of the more interesting aspects of their shows is the locations seen in these movies.
Did you know that you can actually visit a lot of the shooting locations of Hallmark’s movies? Well, in this report, we are going to bring you a list of the 10 locations you can visit, along with the movies that have been filmed there, and believe us – it’s easier than you think!
1. Vancouver
Movies: The Christmas House (2020), Let It Snow (2013), A Glenbrooke Christmas (2020), Jingle Bell Bride (2020), The Christmas Secret (2014), A Timeless Christmas (2020), Christmas Waltz (2020), and more.
And while you’ll notice that many Hallmark movies are set in small-town America, a lot of them have actually been filmed in Canada, and the city of Vancouver was one of the more frequent locations, and it’s easy to visit.
2. Connecticut
Movies: One Royal Holiday (2020), A Holiday in Harlem (2021), Holiday for Heroes (2019), Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane (2018), Ghosts of Christmas Always (2022), Sugar Plum Twist (2021), Mystic Christmas (2023), Trivia at St. Nick’s (2024), Where Are You, Christmas? (2023), Christmas at Pemberley Manor (2018), Next Stop, Christmas (2021), Romance at Reindeer Lodge (2017), Broadcasting Christmas (2016), and more.
Connecticut actually has a Christmas movie trail map for tourists, as so many Christmas movies have been filmed there. It’s not just Hallmark, but also Netflix, and Lifetime, so you can properly visit all of these locations and enjoy them.
3. Wilmington, North Carolina
Movies: USS Christmas (2020), Christmas in Harmony (2021), A Christmas Proposal (2021), and more.
Wilmington is a popular filming destination in general, but several Christmas movies have also been filmed there, so you can enjoy the scenery with ease. It’s also not that far away, so it’s easy to visit.
4. Farmington, Utah
Movies: Christmas Land (2015)
There might not be many movies filmed here, but if you want to visit the famous Christmas Land, well – Farmington, Utah is the place you need to go. The name is not a pun, and it is worth the trip.
5. Chester, Vermont
Movies: Moonlight & Mistletoe (2008)
Another East Coast location, Chester also isn’t very popular in terms of how many movies were filmed there, but the movie filmed there is a proper classic and we completely understand why you’d want to visit!
6. Covington, Georgia
Movies: Christmas Everlasting (2018)
The number of movies per location is increasing, but we’re still going strong. Georgia is a bit off the path when compared to the previous locations, but Covington is a very interesting place and if you’re a fan of the 2018 classic, you’ll definitely want to visit.
7. Memphis, Tennessee
Movies: Christmas at Graceland (2018), Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays (2019)
Of course, Graceland-related movies should be filmed in Memphis, which is close to Georgia and is leading us south after several northern and eastern locations. Memphis is definitely a city worth visiting in general, so there’s no reason not to do it!
8. Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Movies: Christmas at Dollywood (2019)
While you’re in Tennessee, you can also visit Pigeon Forge, a town you probably haven’t heard of before, but which was the setting of one of Hallmark’s more popular Christmas movies, so if you’re there… why not?
9. Kansas City, Missouri
Movies: Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story (2024)
If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift, the movie filmed in Kansas City, Missouri is loosely inspired by her love story, so there is a lot to enjoy. Kansas City is also generally a location one can visit, so there is no real reason not to go there.
10. New York City, New York
Movies: Christmas at the Plaza (2019)
Do you really need a reason to visit New York? Probably not, but the movie filmed there might be a reason to visit this city. New York is America’s most popular tourist destination so… go there and enjoy it!
