Jamie Foxx recently found himself at the center of an unexpected conflict while dining out in Beverly Hills.
The celebrated actor and comedian, who just released his Netflix special ‘What Had Happened Was,’ was celebrating his birthday at the upscale Mr. Chow when a disruptive incident occurred.
The altercation began when patrons at a neighboring table behaved rudely. Foxx, known for his roles in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2,’ politely requested that the individuals tone down their behavior.
The situation escalated when one of the diners hurled a glass at Foxx, striking him in the mouth.
Following the incident, a spokesperson for Foxx confirmed to PEOPLE that the actor required stitches for the injuries sustained.
They further mentioned that the local police were notified, adding that the altercation is now being handled by law enforcement.
The Beverly Hills Police Department provided clarity on the event. They were called to the scene around 10 p.m. and determined that the situation was a physical confrontation rather than an assault with a deadly weapon. Although their investigation led to a detailed report on the battery, no arrests have been made.
Thankfully, Jamie Foxx is in stable condition after the incident. He took to his Instagram to express his gratitude for the support he received from fans and emphasized his resilience in the face of adversity.
Foxx highlighted the success of his latest project, ‘What Had Happened Was,’ which is topping charts on Netflix.
Witnesses to the restaurant attack included Foxx’s daughters, Corinne and Anelise, as well as his ex, Kristin Grannis, with whom he shares Anelise.
The family outing took an unexpected turn, but it appears that Foxx is recovering well and maintaining a positive outlook despite the challenges.
