The MCU has a lot of projects in the pipeline, both in movies and TV shows. Some, like the Nova series and Vision Quest, were confirmed months ago, while others, like Hawkeye Season 2 and a show about Wiccan, are still just rumors.
Now, insider Daniel Richtman has reported on his Patreon that a Strange Academy series is “officially” in development at Marvel Studios. This is the first time this particular show has been mentioned.
In the comics, Strange Academy is about a magical school founded by Doctor Strange in New Orleans to teach young sorcerers. The students come from all over the Marvel Universe, including humans, Asgardians, demons, and other mystical beings.
The story of Strange Academy follows students as they learn to control their magical powers, face challenges, and deal with friendships and rivalries. Characters like Zelma Stanton, Wong, and other magic users from Marvel help guide the students. It’s a mix of magic, adventure, and coming-of-age drama, kind of like a superhero version of a wizard school.
If this show is real, it could work really well as an animated series. Since Marvel Studios is focusing on building up younger superheroes, it makes sense they would consider a project like this.
Doctor Strange is rumored to play a big role in the Multiverse Saga, so it’s likely that magic will be a big part of the MCU’s future. There are also rumors that after the Multiverse Saga, the next big focus will be on magic and mutants, with projects like Blade and Midnight Sons adding weight to these rumors.
