Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are two of the most anticipated MCU projects. While the details of the plots are unclear, it’s expected that the stories will be loosely based on the Time Runs Out and Secret Wars comic arcs.

The Multiverse is in danger, with incursions playing a big role, and Doctor Doom is set to be the main villain, though his exact involvement is still unknown. Secret Wars is expected to feature many characters, with reports suggesting that over 50 characters could appear in the movie.

Several teams will appear in the movies, and industry insider Alex Perez has revealed that two new teams will play an important role. Perez said the Thunderbolts will be crucial in Avengers: Doomsday, while the Young Avengers aren’t fully formed yet, but members like Cassie Lang, Ironheart, Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, and Kate Bishop will be involved. He also mentioned that Franklin will be a major character in the next two Avengers films.

Alex Perez: Thunderbolts will definitely be important in Avengers: Doomsday. The Young Avengers aren’t really formed yet, but some of their members, like Cassie Lang, Ironheart, Ms. Marvel, America Chavez and Kate Bishop are going to play a part in this as well. Oh, and Franklin. Franklin’s a major character in the next two Avengers films.

It’s not surprising since the MCU has been hinting at other teams for a while. The Thunderbolts will debut next year in their own movie, and the Young Avengers were teased in The Marvels.

As for Franklin Richards, this isn’t the first time his role has been called “very important.” Young Franklin is said to have a connection to Galactus, and it’s been speculated that the Fantastic Four’s fight with Galactus will be “very personal,” with Galactus demanding that Sue and Reed give him their son.

Given Franklin’s godlike powers in the comics, he might be the one to either save or destroy the Multiverse, depending on how closely the studio sticks to the comics.
