Even though the final season of Succession earned him his first Golden Globe, Kieran Culkin hasn’t really gotten to enjoy his success.
The actor recently revealed he still hasn’t watched the series finale of the HBO show, which wrapped up last year after four seasons. He was filming his latest movie, A Real Pain with Jesse Eisenberg, in Poland when the finale aired.
“I’ve heard!” he said about the episode’s great reviews on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I was there. I read the script, I know what happens—or at least I think I do. It wasn’t intentional at first, but I guess it sort of is now.”
Culkin explained, “I was in Poland filming when the last three episodes aired, and I couldn’t log into my Max account. My wife went on Instagram and asked if anyone could share their login info so I could watch the last episodes.”
“People actually sent their emails and passwords. I watched the eighth and ninth episodes, but then I switched to a hotel without a smart TV, so I couldn’t watch the finale.”
Then he went home, took a vacation, and months passed. “By then, it was like I missed the moment. Does that make sense? Maybe it doesn’t,” he said.
Culkin won both a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his role as Roman Roy in the series created by Jesse Armstrong.
