The New Addition to ‘Lanterns’ Could Be the Series’ Villain, but Also Someone Even Bigger

DC’s and HBO’s Lanterns series is shaping up to be a very interesting show. After it was initially hit with a series of setbacks, the series is slowly shaping its cast, with some interesting names joining the series, and it seems that the most recent confirmed casting could indicate the villain of the series.
As you probably know, Garret Dillahunt was recently confirmed for the series as “a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded man who masks his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated façade.” And while this is a very general description of the character, the fans believe that it might indicate something more.
Namely, according to some rumors and theories online, Dillahunt’s character is actually going to be the main villain of the series or someone connected to the villainous entity behind it all, but there is a running theory that it might not end with Lanterns and that we might see more of the two of them in the future.
The plot of Lanterns is still a big mystery. We know it is going to be an Earth-based murder mystery inspired by True Detective, with James Gunn stating that it “leads into the overall story that we’re telling throughout the different movies and television shows. And we find this Ancient Horror on Earth. And these guys are basically, you know, super cops on precinct Earth.”
The fact that the series will have two Lanterns, an older one (Hal Jordan) and a younger one (John Stewart), points to the series establishing a larger Green Lanter universe, but since Kyle Chandler has signed on for only the series and no movies, we might not see Hal Jordan in future projects. Garren Dillahunt could have something to do with that.
You have read the official description of the character in the above paragraphs, and based on what we know, he could be related to a cult, if we’re talking about a cult and Green Lantern, then, well, there is one obvious candidate for the main villain, especially in light of Gunn’s “Ancient Horror on Earth” comments. Take a look:

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Centre have a cult on earth? https://t.co/w2PR3usz1E pic.twitter.com/1q9i0qZVXq
This was later retweeted by DanielRPK, a very popular and reliable industry insider, giving additional credibility to the theory:

This definitely seems like an interesting their, and based on all the comments we have, Centre could likely be the main villain of the first phase of the DCU, seeing how he is both a god and a monster at the same time. What are the fans saying? Let us see:
The leaks from the source that mentioned the Centre as the big bad have all come true.

James Gunn LOVES Darwyn Cooke and New Frontier.
I think this is the direction they’re going.
I mean, from what we know so far, it does seem to me that a lot of the themes in the DCU line up with The New Frontier.

Particularly the government oversight bit.
Yep, I'm was saying he's maybe first evil Chapter 1(my theory The Centre it's main Island from Creature commandos) and all heroes in ending fight with him, maybe even retired Hal, which after s1 can go on pension @LanternUpdates @TropaLanterna

It wouldn’t be shocking. You can definitely play that up into a big thing and expand on it more
