Matt Reeves’ ‘Batman Epic Crime Saga’ keeps expanding, and the latest installment aired its last episode a few weeks ago- it was a show focusing on Oz Cobb’s rise to power following the death of Carmine Falcone in ‘The Batman: Part I.’

Fans were initially skeptical that The Penguin was getting his own standalone show, all such doubts were dismissed after the first episode aired.

Fans immediately started praising pretty much every aspect of the show, from its grounded and gloomy setting to performances delivered by Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti.

Now since the show ended and wrapped up Oz’s character arc, fans naturally started wondering regarding the potential second season of the show. Certainly, Reeves’ Oz is interesting enough and there’s plenty of room to expand either his origin or his criminal pursuits.

The showrunner Lauren LeFranc recently addressed that potential second season, and quite frankly it’s going to be tough to deliver what they want to deliver. LeFranc said that they would need to “top themselves” and the story to consider the second season, but she is certainly interested in returning and “playing” in the sandbox that is Gotham City.

Now Matt Reeves recently sat down with Zoe Kravitz as a part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” and shared that discussions are underway with showrunner Lauren LeFranc about another season. He described the experience as special and said he feels fortunate to work on these characters, emphasizing that they belong to the world.

For him, it’s about finding a personal connection to the story when approaching the characters.

Yeah, we’re talking to [showrunner] Lauren [LeFranc] about doing another season. That was a special experience. I just feel really fortunate. These characters don’t belong to me; they belong to the world. It comes down to whether you can approach them in a way that expresses something personal.

Reeves also gave fans an update on ‘The Batman Part II’ saying that the script is still not finished, but it’s close:

Yeah, we’re finishing the script. We’re going to be shooting next year.

Fans of Reevesverse certainly have a lot to look forward to! Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
