Agatha All Along premiered soon after The Acolyte. The Star Wars show didn’t do well, mainly due to quality issues, and also faced criticism over its DEI themes.

Many MCU fans thought Agatha All Along would have similar issues. The MCU has been facing challenges lately, and Agatha All Along seemed like it might attract another round of negative reviews.

This didn’t happen. Although there were some attempts to review-bomb the show, it has consistently pulled in strong streaming numbers, making Nielsen’s Originals Top 10 list twice. Brad Winderbaum also confirmed that Agatha All Along has the highest viewer retention rate among MCU shows.

This means that many viewers kept coming back each week to keep up with the show.

According to the latest data from Variety’s Luminate, Agatha All Along saw a big jump in viewership after its final two episodes, reaching the 8th spot for November 1–7, 2024, with 314.8 million minutes watched—a 17% increase from the previous week.

Agatha All Along was mostly missing from the list after debuting in the 9th spot a week after release.

This is all good news, especially if there’s a chance for a second season. Even though it was set up as a miniseries with a set number of episodes, Disney entered Agatha All Along for awards in the comedy category rather than as a “limited series.”

It also helps that Agatha All Along was Disney’s least expensive production yet, meaning it needed fewer viewers to be profitable, unlike The Acolyte, which had a high production budget.
