Brazil’s D23 event is over, and we’ve got lots of updates on upcoming MCU projects! This includes a new look at Thunderbolts* and a teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World.
The 2024/2025 release schedule is set, but what’s coming after that? We can expect two big Avengers movies, and fans are hoping to see more stories for some of their favorite characters.
Cinepop got the chance to talk with Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum after the D23 panel and ask him about some popular project ideas.
First up was the possibility of continuing Agatha’s story. You probably know that Agatha All Along recently finished with great reviews and strong viewership, so we’re hoping to see more of her in the MCU.
Jac Schaeffer has an incredible imagination and she had a vision for this show and for these characters that really was unique and allowed Kathryn Hahn to embody this character so significantly.
I feel like, as an actress she is going to forever be bonded to act the Harkness
The interviewer pointed out that Marvel Studios submitted Agatha All Along as a comedy series for awards season, not as a miniseries. This has made many people wonder if there might be a second season. Here’s what Winderbaum had to say about it:
I think that we all want to see more adventures in Westview. That poor town, I mean, can they catch a break? Between WandaVision and Agatha, come on…
Winderbaum also praised Locke’s performance in the show and then shared which Defender he’d like to see get a new season in the MCU. His answer was clear: Jessica Jones.
Oh, wow. I mean, Jessica Jones.
Winderbaum also talked briefly about the lower number of MCU TV shows, saying it will vary. Some years, fans can expect 2 or 2 and a half shows, while other years there might be just one. This is because the development process is now longer, making sure that only high-quality shows are released.
He was then asked about the chances of a Loki season 3:
There’s always a chance.
Which show would you most like to see? Jessica Jones, Agatha All Along season 2, or Loki season 3? Let us know in the comments!
