Rumor Claims that Marvel Is Looking to Bring Back Gwyneth Paltrow for ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts was a very interesting supporting character in the original Infinity Saga. A counterbalance to Stark’s megalomania, Potts was an intriguing character whom the fans liked, despite the fact that her actress is often at the center of numerous controversies over her private life. That, seemingly, did not influence the reception of Pepper Potts that much.

On the other hand, she has never been a major character in the franchise, and for the most part, the story actually continued without her, and no one really missed her. But, in light of Downey returning as Doctor Doom, some fans believe that there is room for Pepper Potts in the upcoming Avengers movies.

In light of that, popular industry insider Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK), claims that he’s heard rumors that Marvel is looking into getting Paltrow back for the two upcoming Avengers movies, i.e., Doomsday and Secret Wars. What else do we know about this? Keep reading to find out!

DanielRPK is a very popular and generally reliable industry insider, which is something we have said more than once here on Fiction Horizon.

His rumors are generally trustworthy, and if he says something, then it usually does hold some value in that aspect. In his recent Patreon post, Daniel Richtman claims that Marvel is looking for a way to bring back Paltrow for the upcoming movies, although he himself claims that he is unsure whether any talks were held at this point.

What does this mean for the future? Well, we don’t know. If she does come back, then we’re quite certain that the fact that Downey has been cast as Doctor Doom will have some influence on the plot of the upcoming movies, as it would create an interesting subplot between Pepper and Doom.

On the other hand, if this is just a false rumor when we really don’t have any clue as to what is going to happen.

What are the chances of Paltrow actually coming back? Well, based on the actress’ own statements, she’s not really that eager to come back:

To be honest, I stopped watching them at some point. I’ve never seen Endgame. I can’t keep track of who’s what. But I probably should at some point. (…) We improvised almost every scene of that movie. We would write scenes in the morning in Jon’s trailer. It was like doing an independent film. Then the movie was such a huge hit that then we didn’t make them like that anymore.

Oh my god, stop yelling at me! We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died. And, why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know. Call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.
