Production on ‘The Black Phone 2’ is underway, with director Scott Derrickson sharing a behind-the-scenes snapshot that hints at the chilling return of Ethan Hawke’s character, the Grabber.

The photo shows a chair marked with the film’s title, signaling the beginning of shooting. Derrickson announced the news by stating, “Shooting started today.”

The sequel promises to bring back familiar faces, including Ethan Hawke as the malevolent Grabber and Mason Thames, who will reprise his role as Finney.

The original cast members Madeleine McGraw, Miguel Mora, and Jeremy Davies are also returning, with Demián Bichir joining the chilling lineup.

Derrickson teams up again with C. Robert Cargill to bring this script to life, continuing the story inspired by Joe Hill’s original short story.

In ‘The Black Phone’, we see Finney defeat the Grabber, seemingly killing him with the phone cord used to bind him.

His return in the sequel raises questions about how his character will be reintroduced, whether he survived or will appear in another form.

This uncertainty adds to the intrigue surrounding the upcoming film, set to release on October 17, 2025.
