Matt Reeves’ Batman crime saga keeps growing, with the latest installment about to release its final episode. We’re talking about The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobblepot and Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, or Gigante, as she is called in the last few episodes.
The show takes place about a week after the events of The Batman Part I and follows Oz as he tries to take control after the death of Carmine Falcone in the movie.
At first, fans were unsure about the show, questioning if Penguin was a strong enough character to lead his own spinoff, especially since he had a small role in the movie. But once the first episode aired, fans quickly realized they were watching “one of the greatest shows of all time.”
Both Farrell and Milioti gave amazing performances, and the show has been at the top of the streaming charts for six weeks in a row, according to SambaTV.
The second-to-last episode set up a big showdown between Oz and Sofia, and it’s possible that one of them won’t survive the rest of the Batman saga. But is that really the case?
Recently, we reported rumors that Sofia will have a bigger role in The Batman Part II. Now, Colin Farrell mentioned during an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show that he’s heard Oz will also be in the second Batman movie. However, the actor admitted that he has no idea what the movie will be about.
I have no idea what the second film is gonna be. I heard Penguin features in it. I haven’t read it.
Farrell also shared his thoughts on the potential character development Oz could have in the second movie:
There’s been so much pipe laid. It’d be interesting to see where it goes from here, you know? But he would be quite different.
