In a recent interview with Omelete, Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, confirmed that the X-Men will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years.
According to Feige, the mutants are set to become a key part of the franchise, particularly following the release of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in 2027.
Feige reflected on the planning stages of previous major releases, noting, ‘When we were gearing up for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ years ago, it was about reaching the climax of our storyline. After that, we had to start over. This time, as we approach ‘Secret Wars,’ we already have a clear vision of the story arc before and after it. The X-Men are crucial to that future.’
It’s important to note that as of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the new X-Men movie from the studio, which means there’s no confirmed director or cast yet.
The anticipated mutant reboot will be penned by Michael Lesslie, known for his work on ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.’
However, there’s no scheduled release date for the film yet. This development marks an exciting future for the MCU, where the X-Men will finally make their long-awaited entry.
