‘What If…?’ Season 3 is the final Marvel show coming to Disney+ this year, and many exciting details were shared at the D23 panel in Brazil.
The show’s new logo was revealed, along with some characters fans can look forward to, like Storm, Agatha Harkness, and Captain America, who will be voiced by Anthony Mackie.
It’s also confirmed that Storm will wield Mjolnir, a detail we first reported on over six months ago.
Season 3 of What If…? will feature several exciting episodes. One episode, written by A.C. Bradley, focuses on Red Guardian and includes characters like Bucky Barnes, Bill Foster, and Ranger Morales. This episode was originally planned for Season 2.
Another episode, inspired by anime, is called “Go-Avengers: Heroes of the Gamma War.” In this episode, the Avengers pilot mechs to fight a swarm of Mega-Hulk monsters. Characters in this episode include Sam Wilson/Captain America, Black Widow, Red Guardian, Xu Shang-Chi, Monica Rambeau, Moon Knight, Shuri, and Melina Vostokoff.
There will also be an episode featuring Agatha Harkness with a musical number, and another with Shang-Chi set in a Western world.
Work on the third season began in July 2022. At that time, A.C. Bradley announced that Season 2 would be her last project with Marvel Studios, and Matthew Chauncey would take over as head writer for the new season. Director Bryan Andrews is also returning for Season 3.
The final season of What If…? will be released on December 22, finishing off the year with a bang. Got something to say? Let us know in the comments below!
