‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU. Set to release on July 25, 2025, we’ve already seen some sneak peeks from the set that promise an exciting, comic-book-faithful experience.
The movie will take place in an alternate reality and will introduce the Fantastic Four, along with some of their most well-known villains.
Filming for the movie began on July 30, 2024, at Pinewood Studios in London, under the working title Blue Moon. Jess Hall, who worked with director Matt Shakman on WandaVision, is the cinematographer.
The shoot was expected to take five months. The production was delayed a few times, first expected to start in 2023, then January 2024, and finally beginning in August 2024. The film is being shot in IMAX.
During the D23 Marvel Studios panel in Brazil, Kevin Feige confirmed that the movie has only a few weeks of filming left. This is exciting news, meaning we’ll likely get a trailer soon.
A first look was also shown to those at the panel.
The cast of First Steps includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Moss-Bachrach will use performance capture and CGI for his role as The Thing.
Julia Garner will play Shalla-Bal, who is the MCU’s version of Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson will portray Galactus, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in secret roles, and Mole Man is also expected to appear.
