Zoe Saldaña and Martin Scorsese Team Up for ‘The Absence of Eden’

According to Variety, Signature Entertainment has secured the rights to the much-anticipated thriller ‘The Absence of Eden,’ starring Zoe Saldaña and produced by Martin Scorsese.
This deal includes territories in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. The film also features actors Garrett Hedlund and Adria Arjona.
Directed by Marco Perego in his feature debut, ‘The Absence of Eden’ tells the gripping story of an ICE Agent and an undocumented woman’s intense battle against a ruthless cartel.
Hedlund plays the conflicted agent, while Saldaña portrays the woman striving to evade cartel clutches.
The script, co-written by Perego and Rick Rapoza, has been recognized by the AMPAS Library for its inclusion in their permanent core collection.
The project is a collaboration of notable producers including Oscar nominee Julie Yorn and Alexandra Milchan, alongside a team of experienced producers under Pioneer Pictures.
Scorsese, alongside others including Cisely, Mariel, and Zoe Saldaña’s Cinestar Pictures, and several financial backers, are also executive producing the film.
