Deadpool & Wolverine has become one of the biggest successes for the MCU in recent years. The movie has made over a billion dollars, which has helped rebuild some of the fans’ trust in the cinematic universe.

A big reason for its success is the introduction of multiple variants and the many hidden references and Easter eggs scattered throughout the film. These elements added excitement and a deeper connection for fans of the MCU.

The movie also had several deleted scenes. For instance, we recently shared one that features the Welshpool variant and introduces “the C-word” to the MCU.

Now, another deleted scene has been released, and it humorously references Wolverine and Jean Grey’s long and complicated relationship in Marvel lore. You can check it out below:

I don’t wanna pry, but whatever happened between you and Jean? You guys seem so good together

Wolverine and Jean Grey are two of the most famous characters in Marvel’s “love triangle,” which also includes Cyclops (Scott Summers). Their relationship is often complicated and filled with tension due to various reasons.

This dynamic is similar in the movies as well. Wolverine is deeply in love with Jean, but she is in a committed relationship with Cyclops. Despite this, there is a strong connection between Wolverine and Jean, and it’s clear that she also has feelings for him, although she stays loyal to Cyclops for most of the series.

In the recent revival of the X-Men Animated Series, X-Men ’97, the show continued this theme but also revealed that Morph has romantic feelings for Wolverine.

We really hope this aspect of Wolverine’s character doesn’t carry over to the MCU, especially with the X-Men set to be introduced in the upcoming live-action reboot.
