Rumors Suggest Live-Action Miles Morales May Debut in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe First

Miles Morales has become one of the most popular characters in recent years, mostly because of the huge success of his animated Spider-Verse films. The third movie is currently being made, and while fans wait for it, they’ve been very vocal about wanting to see Miles in live-action.

At Brazil’s D23 event, Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige teased that Miles will join the MCU after the release of his third movie.

He’ll be in the third ‘Spider-Verse’, and I’m hoping that shortly after that, we can introduce him to the MCU in a live-action format,

Alex Perez, an industry insider known for being reliable, recently shared some ideas about the future of Miles Morales in different forms of media. In his November Q&A, he talked about how Miles’ story will differ depending on whether it’s animated, in a video game, or live-action.

In the animated world, Miles’ story is coming to a close, but there could still be other versions of him in the multiverse. In the Marvel’s Spider-Man video game series, Miles is being set up as a key character, and players might control him for part of the game before switching to Peter Parker.

Perez also mentioned that Miles could appear in live-action, either in his own movie within Sony’s universe or in the MCU, where he could eventually take over the Spider-Man role from Tom Holland’s character. For now, however, both Miles and Peter Parker might team up in future films.

It really all depends on which version you’re talking about. Like, do you mean the animated one? The video game one? The potential live-action one? Animated-wise, we’re about to see the end of Miles’ story, and it’s kind of exciting because it’s an infinite multiverse out there, but so far, the most variants we’ve seen are of Peter Parker.

Sure, there have been a lot of different characters and iterations, but most are a variation of Peter Parker. Just makes you think, there’s got to be more than one Miles Morales out there, right? And this sort of ties into the rest of them. But more on them later.

Miles’ story in the Marvel’s Spider-Man video game franchise has him set up as the lead. It would come as no surprise to me if we were to play as Miles for a good chunk of the game at first before getting to play as Peter later on.

As for the live-action one, there have been several ideas like having his own solo movie set up in the Sony-verse to incorporating him in the MCU during this upcoming trilogy of Spidey films so he can eventually take over the mantle for Tom Holland when his time as Spider-Man is up, but while that’s still being worked out, the idea is that they would like for them to team up. 

Regarding the possibility of teaming up with Holland’s Spider-Man, Holland himself mentioned this a few weeks ago. He said that he would love to do for Miles what Iron Man did for him.

If I would be lucky enough to somehow bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and into the MCU, Id love to do for a young kid what [Robert] Downey [Jr.] did for me.
