Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most exciting upcoming movies in the MCU. It will finally introduce Marvel’s first family to the big screen, after several past attempts that didn’t quite work out—though that depends on who you ask.
We know the main cast for the movie: Pascal will play Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm.
After the movie was announced, rumors started saying that Franklin and Valeria Richards, Sue and Reed’s children, would also appear. Franklin is said to have a connection to Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson), and he’s reportedly born in space.
Yesterday, an official summary for First Steps was released, describing the Fantastic Four’s battle against Galactus as “personal.”
The film follows Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal
You could say that any time someone tries to destroy your world, it’s personal. But according to popular leaker MyTimeToShineHello, there’s more to it than just a fight for survival.
MTTSH says the story will be personal because Galactus will ask Sue and Reed to hand over Franklin to him.
This fits perfectly with the rumored connection between Franklin and Galactus, as well as recent reports suggesting that Franklin and his powers will play a huge role in Doomsday. Franklin is incredibly powerful—so much so that he once made Galactus his herald.
No details about this connection have been revealed yet, but we’ll keep you updated with any new information.
