Spider-Man 4 was confirmed last year, but not much is known yet. So far, we know that Tom Holland and Zendaya will return, and Destin Daniel Cretton will direct.

Ryan Meinerding recently revealed that this movie will start Spider-Man’s second trilogy. He also shared that the first trilogy is officially called the “Home” trilogy because all its titles included the word “Home.”

Yesterday, The Cosmic Circus reported that the working title for the upcoming Spider-Man 4 is “Blue Oasis,” used by a production company called Blaze Films, Inc. The movie is set to release on July 24, 2026, fitting between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on Marvel’s timeline.

Working titles are often used to disguise big projects and keep curious onlookers away from the set. However, these titles are often leaked, and people still figure out the connection. Sometimes, the working title loosely relates to the movie.

Another update came from Deux Moi, reporting that Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline is joining the movie. Many fans assumed she would play Black Cat, but with the working title now revealed, that guess feels less certain.

The title Spider-Man: Blue Oasis might be a nod to Spider-Man: Blue, a story by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. In this story, Spider-Man reflects on his first love, Gwen Stacy, who died long ago but still deeply impacts him, especially on Valentine’s Day.

He records memories of their time together, recalling events from The Amazing Spider-Man comics. These include fights with villains, possibly orchestrated by Kraven the Hunter, and Peter’s struggles between Gwen and Mary Jane Watson, along with tensions involving his friend Harry Osborn.

At the end, Peter remembers Gwen asking him to be her Valentine. He admits her death left a deep scar, even though Mary Jane helped him move forward. When Mary Jane overhears, she isn’t upset. Instead, she sympathizes and encourages Peter to tell Gwen they both miss her.

It would be tough to adapt this story in the MCU right now since Gwen Stacy hasn’t been introduced yet, but it’s not impossible. The MCU could introduce Gwen, and that’s where Madelyn Cline could come in. She might play a new love interest and supporting character, replacing Mary Jane in the movie.

The big twist could come at the end when Gwen is killed off. The movie could show their relationship growing, and after her death, Spider-Man might start messing with the multiverse more, especially since he’s been blamed for the current multiversal collapse.
