Top 10 Hallmark Christmas Movies of All Time, Ranked

Join us on Reddit for the latest Marvel & DC news!
Ranker is a popular place on the Internet where people can rank whatever they want, however, they want, and whenever they want. This is always a fan-focused ranking system, and it is never officially tied to the people behind the projects in question.
Recently, a large survey was organized on Ranker, whose goal was to determine the best Hallmark Christmas movies of all time. The list includes just under 100 titles, but in our report, we have decided to list the top 10 films from the site to provide you with better insight, combined with our original comments and opinions, which will add flavor to the whole report.
Of course, since this is indeed an important list for the Holiday season, we have decided to report on it, so we are going to bring you the results by listing the top 10 films on this list, from 10th to first place. We hope you’ll enjoy it!
10. Christmas Land
Synopsis: After inheriting a Christmas tree farm, a woman’s plans to sell it change when she falls in love with the townspeople and meets a charming lawyer named Tucker.
Christmas Land is one of those charming holiday films where the uninterested person from the city comes to a local community. Then proceeds to milk some money from whatever she can but changes after realizing that life in a small town is not that bad. A bit Dickensian but with a lot of fun-filled twists.
9. Mingle All the Way
Synopsis: Mingle All the Way is a new networking app designed to pair busy professionals together for upcoming events, without long-term romance. Molly, founder of the app, is determined to prove to her family that it is a success. Therefore, she joins the app, and meets another busy professional, Jeff. When Molly and Jeff are matched, they are both horrified to realize they’ve already had not one, but two disastrous previous encounters.
Mingle All the Way is one of only two films that don’t have the word “Christmas” in the title, interesting, although the reference is obvious. The film itself is a modern take on the phenomenon of Christmas magic, as the dating app plays a central role, so if you’re a fan of that, this is definitely the right choice for you.
8. A Christmas Melody
Synopsis: Kristin has just had to close her small Manhattan boutique to return to her Ohio home town. It’s an adjustment for Kristin and her daughter Emily – especially when she runs into her former high school rival, and president of the PTA, Melissa. Kristen and Emily struggle to find their new normal with the help of the music teacher Danny and Kristin’s Aunt Sarah, the local coffee shop owner. With a little holiday magic and music, Kristin and Emily find that home is where the heart is.
The title is a musical one, so don’t be surprised when we confirm that Mariah Carey makes an appearance in this film. Whether that is an instigator for you to watch it or avoid it is up to you; we’re just disclosing the facts.
7. The Christmas Train
Synopsis: A journalist embarks on a cross-country train ride at Christmas having no idea this journey will take him into the rugged terrain of his own heart.
The Christmas Train is an interesting road movie with an ending that we know and can expect. While it is not the most famous train-related Christmas movie, it certainly does stand out among the other titles on this list, so it is a solid recommendation for you.
6. Christmas at Holly Lodge
Synopsis: When a major developer sends Evan to evaluate the value of Holly Lodge, he and lodge owner Sophie, have an instant attraction. But when Sophie realizes the reason for Evan’s stay, she must convince him the lodge is a bad investment — while trying not to fall in love.
This is your standard rom-com with a lot of predictable twists here and there, but also with a lot of fun and intrigue. While you can predict how it all turns out, there is enough to enjoy the movie!
5. Picture a Perfect Christmas
Synopsis: Extreme sports photographer David returns home for the holiday to look after her grandmother and ends up lending a helping hand to her neighbor, Sophie who needs assistance watching his nephew.
This is one of those movies where two people who seemingly have nothing in common are united over a similar cause and then discover that they can use their differences as a basis to build a proper romance. If you like that sort of approach, Picture a Perfect Christmas is a great pick for you!
4. Christmas Cookies
Synopsis: Aunt Sally’s Christmas Cookie Company is sold to a large conglomerate and executive Hannah must seal the deal and shut down the factory, which is the small town of Cookie Jar’s lifeblood. What was supposed to be a simple assignment for Hannah becomes complicated when she meets Jake, the factory owner who’s determined to keep the factory in town.
Christmas Cookies might look like a mix of Christmas Land and Christmas at Holly Lodge, but there are cookies! This, of course, adds a lot of sweetness (pun intended) to the whole story, and we think you’ll genuinely have a lot of fun with this one!
3. The Christmas Ornament
Synopsis: Kathy plans to avoid any holiday traditions that bring back memories of her late husband until she receives an ornament from a handsome shop owner. To move on from her loss, Kathy works for a balance between her memories and finding a future.
This is probably the deepest movie on this list in terms of the plot, as it explores topics of loss and moving on. Of course, there is a pattern here as well, but if you’re coping with similar feelings, The Christmas Ornament will be a movie you’ll love!
2. The Mistletoe Promise
Synopsis: A chance meeting between two strangers who share a disdain for Christmas results in the Mistletoe Promise, a pact to help them navigate their holiday complications – together. But as they spend more time with each other and experience the magic of Christmas the phony couple discovers there may be more to their contract than business. Based on the bestselling novel by Richard Paul Evans.
The second film that does not have “Christmas” in its title, is another Dickensian title in which two people who don’t like Christmas or each other pretend to be a couple only to discover that there is some real magic in the things around them.
1. Christmas in Homestead
Synopsis: Jessica, one of the most famous actresses in the world, heads to the Christmas-obsessed town of Homestead, Iowa, to shoot a holiday-themed movie. She is thrown for a loop when a romance brews between her and local inn keeper and single dad, Matt. As she gets a taste of small-town life, she discovers the true meaning of Christmas.
This one is a fun-filled journey of discovery that properly explains the true meaning of Christmas and the holidays. It opposes two different worlds and shows the universal power of the message of Christmas in a brilliant way.
