Anya Taylor-Joy Rumored to Swing into Next ‘Spider-Man’ Movie

Spider-Man 4 is one of the most anticipated Marvel movies in development. It was announced over a year ago, and we recently learned that Destin Daniel Cretton will direct, with Zendaya and Tom Holland returning to their roles.

So far, there’s little information about the plot. Early rumors suggested it would be a street-level story with Spider-Man facing Kingpin, but now it seems the movie might focus on the multiverse, with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom stepping in as the main villain instead of Kang the Conqueror.

Zendaya is rumored to return in a smaller role for the next Spider-Man movie, partly due to her busy schedule. This fits with the story since her character, MJ, doesn’t remember Peter right now.

Recently, reports said Marvel Studios is casting a new male and female lead to join Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Zendaya’s MJ. Names like Sydney Sweeney as Black Cat and Madelyn Cline have been mentioned, and now industry insider Daniel Richtman claims Anya Taylor-Joy is being considered for a role in the film.

Anya Taylor-Joy is known for playing bold and unique characters, like Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit and Thomasin in The Witch. She’s also starred in hit movies like Split and The Menu, proving her skill in both drama and thrillers.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s latest big project was the Mad Max prequel, Furiosa. Industry insider Daniel Richtman also pointed out that she was once considered for the role of Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, though the part eventually went to Julia Garner.

The studio hasn’t confirmed these rumors yet, and it might be a while before we get any official casting news.
